The free-standing single family home in Bucktown is an adaptive re-use of an abandoned spec home, sitting derelict since the end of the building boom in 2008. LSA designed an entirely new home for a young family, using a simple and economical material palette. Stained oak and white lacquered millwork define generous and inviting spaces. Terraced landscaping, a sprawling roof deck, and a new north facade of overlapping, shifted stucco rectangles finish out the exterior.
